When I was 22 years old, on my birthday actually, I went upstate New York to the Muktananda Ashram where a lot of my friends were spending time in Seva (ego-less service) and meditation. That day, for some reason, I decided to ask Muktananda for a Hindu name. He reached into his bowl, and with a little laugh and twinkle in his eye, pulled out the name Nirbhaya, which is one of the softer and gentler names for Durga. But Durga none the less!
So over the many years now I have entered more fully into my Durga archetype. Remember she is the one who rides into town on the back of a Tiger as the small pox epidemic is in full swing. In other words, she isn't going to let a little epidemic get in her way!
Can you use some really powerful archetypal Divine Goddess energy right about now? What do you want to clear out of your life for good, something that has been lingering on as an old habit for too long, that you would love to do away with once and for all?
My suggestion is to spend some time in quiet meditation, breathing and coming into your place of centered power, and after you have come to a place of repose, let an image or a thought of an event that keeps repeating in your memory bubble up to the surface. Then write down on paper a short description of the problem, so that you can fully represent it. If you have time, write down all of the time and energy it has cost you, how much stress and frustration. Really get it into your mind.
Then you are going to find a safe place to burn the paper with the writing on it. Send it to the wind. Let it burn and let it truly go out of your life. Afterward, send thoughts of gratitude that you have finally let it go. This ritual will help you to release the unwanted energy of upset that you have been holding within your nervous system and energy bodies for way too long.
It will bring you some peace. I guarantee it!
Happy New Moon energy...let today be the beginning of a very powerful and effective month for you my friend.
Have faith in you!
