We have had a wondrous surge in Entrepreneurship that has only gotten more powerful in the last five years or so, but along with that is a lot of "noise" on the internet. The sheer plethora of programs and enticements to "learn a blueprint" or "reach six figures in 90 days" and all of the claims that are made actually reduce the self connection necessary to actually achieve those goals!
Sure, you can land on a perfect angle for your holistic business or coaching program, and that's great. But the tendency to continually reach for more training takes us swiftly backwards...back to the more masculine approach to business. Mental, driven, conquering. I thought we were in for a whole different approach to business, where we could change lives and make a difference by bringing forward the spiritual leadership values and bring about a more cooperative, loving way of sharing out gifts.
Please don't get me wrong, there are so many new powerful business owners, healers, coaches doing exactly that, however when the focus is on "leveraging your gifts on-line" with the idea that all you have to do is to create your ideal client profile and find a niche, things narrow down to a standstill, and IF for some reason you have remained more holistic than that, then the chances of actually failing loom large.
My biggest concern is that we collectively relapse into insecurity, fear and doom, that the fledgling business actually can't get the boost it needs while maintaining integrity.
Let's go back a few decades, and think about how the New Age gurus were sharing the information that has become mainstream...I recall many spiritual masters coming to this country from exotic Eastern countries, and bringing over rich resources of material; meditation, yoga, non-material lifestyle teachings. We flocked to these teachers! And this trend set up a solid foundation for building a different, more thoughtful sense of what life could be for all. These teachers were also not too interested in material gain.
Now, we want to have it all! Six figure instantaneous soul-based businesses in six months or less. My worry? It still feels aggressive and futile to plan a business this way. I truly believe in the model that we call the Sacred Feminine approach to business, but I am only suggesting that we build a solid enough foundation that really takes into account the depth of our own values, and build from that place. This means not necessarily modeling after those women who took this coaching industry by storm and are raking in high six to seven figures. They saw the opportunities at a time when there wasn't quite so much noise on the internet, and amassed huge lists of buyers, which continues to serve them.
For the rest of us, perhaps we can breathe more deeply, attune to the inner realms as our resource for what marketing tactics to practice, and take it one step at a time, keeping some of the sacred ground that we know is ours to steward.
I wish for my readers great love and prosperity as you slowly and gracefully keep the connectedness at the top of mind, building relationships that last, and clients that keep coming back to learn, share and grow with your special medicine!
